Erosion rehab pilot trial
This 2-month pilot trial involved paste production and placement into eroded gullies on the site of a tailings dam. We mixed the tailings into strategic recipes and pumped the material back up into the hillside to fill caverns and voids.
The nature of the voids on site posed a hazard to traditional excavation and filling equipment, which we were able to overcome by backfilling remotely from a safe distance. We dealt with the challenging terrain by using concrete anchors to set and stabilize the pipes to safely and effectively access the fill site.
